Susie-Quartet Small

Susie Pepper Quartet

V ocalist Susie Pepper joins with Kelly’s jazz piano trio for a mix of jazz standards and pop interpretations. The group draws inspiration from the classics of Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra, along with modern greats like Diana Krall and Nora Jones. Susie won Fox23’s “Maine Idol” competition in 2008 and used her tremendous vocal talents as Miss Maine 2009. In the December 2014 and 2017 she was a featured soloist with the Portland Symphony Orchestra for the “Magic of Christmas” series, in addition to several other performances with the symphony. She is in very high demand for her talents and professionalism and blends beautifully with The Muse Trio.

The Susie Pepper Quartet is ideal for functions and parties that are on the classy side: weddings, celebrations or corporate events that might have a little dancing, a bit of a show or just want background music, without the full setup and cost of a function band. Those who like a little jazz are well-served by the groups swinging roots, but the quartet also has a full repertoire of popular music. Of course, for those who do want a full dance band experience, Susie also sings lead in the popular band Mixology.

In addition to Susie’s vocals, the group is run by Kelly Muse on piano and features Rob Gerry on acoustic bass and Andy Robbins on drums. The ensemble prides itself on its top-level musicianship, professionalism and flexibility. The following is a sample of clips from a live show at the Old Saco Inn in Fryeburg, Maine:
